Canon CP-330 Compact Photo Printer

Canon CP-330 Compact Photo Printer

Canon's compact CP-330 prints pictures quickly and easily from either your computer or directly from a digital camera, virtually anywhere. Using 300-dpi dye-sublimation technology with 256 levels of color, the printer renders skin tones, shadings, and fine details with professional-looking accuracy. A transparent water- and fade-resistant coating offers added protection against the damaging effects of sunlight and humidity.

Connect the printer to your computer via standard USB cable or directly to your PictBridge-compliant camera. Printer drivers and Canon software for both PCs and Mac are included with the printer. In PictBridge mode, the camera features an Automatic Dynamic Range Correction function that optimizes the print image information sent from the camera, producing brighter, sharper, better-looking prints.

With its rechargeable batteries, the CP-330 becomes fully mobile; the lithium-ion battery pack delivers up to 90 minutes when fully charged. Whether you're on-the-go or at your desk, you can create prints in a variety sizes: wide (4 by 8 inches), postcard (4 by 6 inches), credit card (with or without borders), credit card labels, and mini labels. You'll get completed prints in just 85 seconds (40 seconds for credit card size).

Picture Perfect
- Reviewd on: 2008-06-23 By: Anonymous
I received this as a gift and stored it for almost 6 months -- with so many online services, it seemed like just one more piece of technology to fiddle with. Boy, was I wrong. Desperate for "just the right" photo for a card and not enough time to wait for mail service, I hauled this out and within seconds I had a perfect print. It's even simpler than plug-and-play and the picture quality is fantastic. It's true that supplies can add up but I bought in bulk, waiting for sales/coupons, etc. I still use the online services, reserving the Canon for when I want crispy photos or immediate gratification. Only one precaution: If you have curious cats, like I do, I would keep them away from it -- the paper slides in and out several times and they mistake it for a new kitty game resulting in shredded photos!

Paper Doesn't Fit Printer!!!
- Reviewd on: 2005-02-19 By: M. Yetter
Canon suggests you buy 4x6 Paper to fit the printer. They don't give you a cartridge to use the paper with. They give you a postcard size and a Wide Size. They also only give you a ink cartridge to print 5 pictures worth. You would think with a printer that costs this much they could give you a proper cartridge, suggest the right paper to use and give you an actual ink cartridge that lasts at least 24 pictures!!

am i not getting something here?
- Reviewd on: 2005-01-07 By: M. Schmidt
I received this printer as a gift, and was very pleased initially.... once i figured the cost per print, i wasn't sure if the convenience outweighed the cost... if you buy the 36 pack of paper and ink (you need to buy these, you can't use just regular photo printer paper) it works out to about 42 cents per... if you send your images to an online processor, it is anywhere from 22 to 29 cents per, and you have a guarantee that if it doesn't come out they will at least reprint it or refund your money. We were able to print out images on Christmas (nice feature, spontaneous and portable) but 2 of the 20 images printed out with a fuzzy on the photograph (which reprinted fine, but we paid for it basically).
the image quality is good, but the convenience factor is really what you are paying for, stock up on bulk packs and it may work out financially...
it is an excellent product, but there are limitations;
cost
size
quality (fuzzies)

other than that, it is a great product

Almost Perfect
- Reviewd on: 2004-09-05 By: Where in the World
First, if you shoot a SLR Digital and want a quick turn around for a proof, this is your printer (especially in the field).

The only calibration/setting that I have needed to do is in the Brightness and Red. It only took three prints total to get the color balance right. It appears to work with all other pictures without readjustment

A big plus: it does a great job of printing Black & White. I have only one picture that might have a slight sepia tint. That is a very big plus for me. I shoot mostly B&W, with the portability and product; it has helped with many of my film shots.

Two reasons why I did not give it five stars; first, a matte paper would be nice, second, in the preview/adjustment screen it would be nice to see the adjustment of colors to the picture you want to print (not a generic smiling child).

It is worth the cost for these reasons: portability, exceptional quality, ease of use, it is multi-voltage (110-240v) and more importantly, the compatibility with XP.

Professional Quality Photos
- Reviewd on: 2004-06-24 By: Donna Tuhiwai
I love having my own photo lab at home! This printer is simply fantastic and produces photos that look great. In fact, I can hardly tell the difference from the photos printed with my CP-330 and the ones I've had professionally developed. Photos come out incredibly sharp and colorful.

My favorite feature on this printer is the fact that I can plug my camera directly into it to print a photo that was taken mere moments before. It is so much fun to take photos and then almost immediately be able to have and share a print of it.

If you are looking for an easy to use, high quality photo printer, this would be the perfect choice.
