Canon PIXMA iP6000D Photo Printer

Product Description

From the Manufacturer
For the advanced photographer who wants exceptional quality, versatility, and control, the six-color Canon Pixma iP6000D Photo Printer is a powerful new tool. Take advantage of the Easy-Photoprint software to eliminate the frustrations of photo printing while empowering you to fix, sharpen, and enhance your photos. Using the large built-in 2.5-inch LCD and control panel, you can actually visualize the print process and fine-tune your images for better results, with or without a computer.

Easy-PhotoPrint v3.0
While most photo-editing software applications will brighten the entire image, Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 accurately detects the subject's face and adjusts the skin to the optimum tone. Brighten dark faces caused by bright backgrounds. Choose from one-click automatic to correct the entire image all at once, or manual to correct just a selected area.

Before
After

Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 also lets you select and print any image on your PC, perfectly trim images, correct images using lab-quality retouching features, correct red-eye, smooth facial lines and skin tone, sharpen faces, remove blemishes, and print in a variety of sizes and layouts.

The printer's versatility is matched by its superior quality, achieving a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 color dpi. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a high-performance 1,536-nozzle print head that ejects consistent, prescribed-volume droplets as small as 2 picoliters. The results are fast prints and breathtaking detail on all your photos--including borderless prints up to 8.5 by 11 inches. Imagine a 4-by-6-inch borderless print that looks like a photo from the photo lab, in just seconds. With the convenience of a dual paper path system, you can keep photo paper in one tray and plain paper in the other, so you're always ready to print photos or documents--no paper switching required.

This printer can connect directly to select digital cameras. Learn more about PictBridge.

Good low-priced photo printer

All Canon printers are first-rate. I got this one from an Amazon seller at a very good price.

Worst printer I've ever owned
- Reviewd on: 2007-09-10 By: World Music Fan
And I've owned many. I've had this printer for almost a year now. It was OK at first although it didn't print well on certain types of paper regardless of the settings. That was disappointing but I thought I could live with that. About 3 - 4 months into owning it, problems began. And I didn't learn about the problem because I didn't have a need to print more than one document at a time. Naturally when I really need this thing to be dependable, it isn't, like now. I don't print large quantity often but when I do, I want my printer to work and work as well as the manufacturer claims. Whenever I need to print a fairly large job (for an injet, that means about 10, right now I cannot get beyond 2 without a problem), by the time it prints the third copy, blue is green, or maybe it's pink, or I get a rainbow effect. Needless to say, I waste good paper and lots of ink. And yes, of course I check to see if all the ink cartridges are full before embarking on such jobs. So I have to do a deep cleaning after every two docs printed, and even that doesn't always work the first time. It has taken me two days now to print 25 documents.

When it does print well, however, it prints very well, but what good is it if a quality print is a crapshoot with this thing? Perhaps I got a defective printer, but who would take back a printer you've had for 3 - 4 months, without a box? It seems today, although we pay less for technology, we also receive less in quality too.

Wonderful printer
- Reviewd on: 2007-07-26 By: Itiba
I can't complain. It's a wonderful printer. Pictures aren't too great w/ the aftermarket ink, but it worked great w/ their ink. It serves my purposes as I'm not into making fab pics.

Edit 1/20/2008
Well, the blue ink doesn't work. The little white thing in the ink holder gets full of blue ink and I have to constantly wash it out. I got myself a used b&w hp laser and it's been my main printer since.

Best Printer I have used
- Reviewd on: 2007-04-16 By: Ryan R. Tucker
I have used several different printers over the years and this one is by far my favorite. It is loaded with options that make printing anything a breeze. The menus are simple to use and understand. But the best feature is the ink cartridges. They last about as long as most printers, but the replacement cost is under $15 each (there are 6 different colors). They are also incredibly easy to refill yourself, and last for mutiple refills (I have only had to replace one cartridge in the 2 years I have owned it). If you are looking for a printer for pictures and documents, this, or another full-size Canon printer, is for you.
