  • Wide Angle 28 mm Lens.
  • Wide 3" Super Clear LCD.
  • Auto Shutter helps capture the picture at the perfect moment.
  • Video Capture YouTube mode.
  • 38MB Internal Memory, Supports SD, SDHC Media Cards.

One model with 10.1 effective megapixels and the other with 9.1 effective megapixels
The two new cameras are the 10.1 effective megapixel EX-Z300 and the 9.1 effective megapixel EX-Z250. Thanks to Casio’s original image processing technologies, these cameras achieve an extremely precise, smooth rendering of high-resolution images, reducing a great deal of noise in pictures taken at high sensitivity levels. This is the result of Casio’s pursuit of the beautiful image quality that users expect from cameras with very high resolution.

28mm wide angle, 4X optical zoom lenses
These lenses zoom from 28mm to 112mm (35mm film camera equivalent). Users can enjoy a wide range of shooting options, from wide angle photography that is convenient when shooting large objects or many people in a small space, to telephoto shooting which brings distant subjects close.

New functions that take advantage of the high speed image processing of Casio’s newly developed EXILIM Engine 3.0:

Handheld night scene:
The cameras can automatically detect night situations where there would normally be camera shake if a tripod wasn’t used. Users get clear, bright photographs of both people and night scenes as the camera compensates for camera shake.

Lighting function:
When blue skies are washed out, or when faces are dark because subjects have their backs to the light, these cameras are able to automatically detect such situations and select just the right balance between light and dark. Washed out and overly dark areas are controlled, allowing for a natural tonal range to be reproduced, so both people and backgrounds are evenly exposed.

Makeup function:
When users want to smooth facial skin, or reduce the depth of facial shadows in sunlight, etc., they can apply image processing from a relatively low level 1 right through to a high level 12, all the while checking the effect of the processing level chosen in the LCD monitor. The higher-end model EX-Z300 also has a “Makeup button” that allows effects to be applied with one touch.

Multi-motion:
Just as if multi-exposure had been used, the EX-Z300 (only) can take a series of shots of a moving subject and combine them in a single photo (image size must be set to 3 megapixels.)

CCD shift stabilization:
Camera shake is compensated for by the mechanical movement of the imaging element in the camera. Of course, both cameras also incorporate Anti Shake DSP, which reduces photo blur due to moving subjects by raising the camera’s sensitivity and allowing faster shutter speeds.

EX-Z300 comes with HD Movie function, which enables high definition (1280x720 pixel) movie recording:
The EX-Z300 comes equipped with a high definition movie recording function, which allows beautiful movies with an image size of 1280 by 720 pixels to be recorded with just a push of the Movie button. They also feature the H.264 video standard, which records beautiful, high quality movies in highly compressed video files.

iTunes-compatible H.264 video:
Both cameras use the H.264 video standard, which utilizes the AAC audio codec widely used in Apple’s iPod and other mobile devices.

Large, high definition 230,000 pixel 3.0 inch LCD monitor:
These cameras use a large, clear 3.0 inch LCD monitor. The high contrast screen produces sharp, bright images that can be viewed easily from any angle, and the monitor’s high brightness means that it can be easily viewed even when the surrounding light is bright.

Great Camera with awesome features
- Reviewd on: 2009-01-04 By: Olivier D. Cuny
Ordered this camera to give as a x-mas present. This camera is really great. Good looks and impressive features. My favourite is the "shake" one. Basically, take a a picture while in motion and the camera will stabilize and manage to take a pic that is not blurry. To me, that is an amazing and useful feature. There are plenty others, that make this a great camera. I usually get Canon, but this one impressed me.

Movie limit not good; software harder to work with
- Reviewd on: 2008-11-23 By: SF new dad
I had a Casio Exilim EX-Z750 before, but lost it. So I bought the Casio Exilim EX-Z300 with higher resolution to replace it.

Good:
- high image resolution: good photos.
- big and clear LCD
- no more docking station to transfer files (vs. EX-Z750).

Bad:
- and this one is really bad: there is a video recording limit (10 minutes!). Now my home movies have to be stitched together... not cool! And this is not mentioned ANYWHERE in the manual or website - very unprofessional.
- software "PhotoLoader" is supposed to be an "upgrade" but I find it harder to use.

I would have gladly go back to Z750 because that does not have a video recording limit. Why they did that is beyond me...

Awesome digital camera
- Reviewd on: 2008-11-18 By: HERNAN A. CRUZ Sanchez
This is My first digital camera I bought.
I used to take pics with My cellphone which is really awfull
I just gotta say this Camera is the real Package
*awesome sharp Pictures
*HD Videos
*Lots of functions
Im just in love with the Make Up mode. This really takes the ex z300 to another level of cameras.

The only bad thing I had found is the .MOV ,when You try to edit your movies On sony vegas or Adobe After effects you can only see the video. it does not detect the audio.
you can play the videos on your media player but if you want to edit your videos you have to change the format of the clip or extract the audio and put it over your timeline.
besides that This is an awesome cam.

Great Camera, nice upgraded features
- Reviewd on: 2008-10-26 By: Boston Doc
Just purchased this camera. Tested it at in various light and dark conditions, indoors and outdoors. I have to say, compared to my previous casio Ex-Z750 there is a definate improvement in image quality in all modalities. The Auto Best Shot feature appears fairly accurate in selecting the right BS shot. The 3" screen is very clear and bright. Battery life has yet to be tested however uses the same NP40 battery as previous models, which is a plus. The makeup feature actually does work, helps clear blemishes on faces.
The best feature I think is the self portrait shots. Basically you can press the shutter button, point the camera at yourself or with someone else, and it will take the picture once it has both faces in full view. The wide angle lens is also a plus, whereas before, self portrait shots only allowed maybe a close view of you and someone elses head, whereas now full face and body and background is in full view. Smile detection technology is also a nice feature, however you have to show your teeth in order for it to work.
HD movie is great. Only downside is it is in .mov format which now requires quicktime. For window users, if you are viewing photos in windows media gallery, and you click on the next button which is actually a .mov movie, windows media will crash. Not a big deal, but you just have to separate the .mov's from the jpgs.
Overall I love the camera, the black and silver contrast is very nice. Does leave some smudges but still a great looking camera.
