KODAK Color Science
Behind every picture you take is over a century of imaging science dedicated to giving you quality pictures. KODAK color science and imaging technologies are used by professional photographers and professional color labs, and are even incorporated in imaging systems that have traveled to outer space.

KODAK Color Science Replicates the Human Color Experience
Human perception of color is a science in itself one in which Kodak has excelled for more than a century. Human vision is the result of your eyes and brain working together. The rods and cones in the retina of the human eye convert light intensity and color respectively into electrical impulses that are sent to the brain where they are converted into information about what we are seeing.

Likewise, the sensor in a digital camera converts light intensity and color information from the scene into a picture file that represents the original scene. Kodak scientists developed the color filter pattern that allows most of today's image sensors to see in color. This color filter array allows a single image sensor to capture the red, green, and blue components of an image in one click.

To produce a high quality color image, the sophisticated algorithms of KODAK color science process the raw image signal in KODAK EASYSHARE digital cameras. KODAK color science controls the essential elements of image quality by determining proper exposure, auto white balance, and accurate color reproduction.

Proper Exposure
The proper exposure delivers optimal image quality, detail, & color reproduction. Unlike other cameras that rely solely on brightness to calculate optimal exposure, Kodak's image processing algorithms take information from nearly 100 adjacent scene areas & analyze the areas for color, subject orientation, & brightness to determine the proper exposure. The result is outstanding exposure, shot after shot, even in challenging situations such as backlit scenes or high-contrast situations.

Auto White Balance
The human eye has the ability to perceive white as white, even under yellowish tungsten light, such as a reading lamp, or greenish fluorescent lighting. A digital camera's sensor records the scene as it is without compensating for the source of light, making indoor-lit scenes appear off-color to the human eye. Auto white balance applies a sophisticated set of algorithms to detect the characteristics of the light source and to correct for any shift in color that's needed. Kodak's auto white balance is among the best in the industry.

Auto-Focus with Enhanced Low-Light Performance
Auto-focus with enhanced low-light performance enables KODAK EASYSHARE digital cameras to achieve and maintain focus in difficult low-light situations. For the photographer this translates into greater creative freedom and the ability to capture stunning pictures even in challenging lighting conditions, such as candlelit scenes.

Thanks for nothing...
- Reviewd on: 2008-03-17 By: Ashley L. Roberts
I loved this camera for the length of the warranty. The day it expired, so did the camera. I'd put the batteries in and it would turn on, then immediately shut off. Kodak suggested I buy their brand of batteries. I did, and it still didn't work. Useless.

Good price, easy to use, nice and compact, good for the everyday photographer who wants good photos of family, pets and family events. Makes it easy to load your pictures on the EasyShare web-site to share with family and friends. Only 4 MP, but our photos are very clear and good quality.

Nice Starter
- Reviewd on: 2008-02-04 By: Christopher M. Fulton
This is a nice camera if you are just getting into the whole digital camera game. It won't do everything you want, but it is an inexpensive way to get started to see if you wish to continue in the digital point and shoot game. Yes, I agree, it does go throught batteries fairly quick, but if you buy yourself some rechargeable batteries, so what. This does very good for everyday and vacation photos.
This is not necessarily for someone who has been taking digi-photos for a while, but for someone who wants a decent camera at a decent price. It may not be the best camera out there, but it is a long way from the worst.
